Rendition

RENDITION      (Written in January 2008)

It was that infamous walk that brought me to suffer

Was destiny unfaithful?

I was happy-go-lucky before I was spotted

Was happiness unfaithful?

It was the rendition of my life that was unfaithful!

I remember your ingenuous smile that shined for a while

Couldn’t have been a chance for I lived with its guile

Never knew before smiles could be deceptive

It was the rendition of my life that was deceptive!

I remember your big eyes that confronted my life

Couldn’t have been a chance for my dreams dwelled in them

Never knew before eyes could be treacherous

It was the rendition of my life that was treacherous!

I remember your face while asleep that nurtured purity in my peep

Couldn’t have been a chance for I spent sleepless nights

Never knew faces could turn cruel

It was the rendition of my life that was cruel!

I trusted you to be mine that only gave omens of twine

Couldn’t have been a chance for I gave you my heart

Never knew that trust could easily be stabbed

It was the rendition of my life that stabbed!

It was that infamous walk that brought me to suffer

Was destiny unfaithful?

I was happy-go-lucky before I was spotted

Was happiness unfaithful?

It was the rendition of my life that was unfaithful!
